The Big 5

We have now seen each of the Big 5 - leopard, lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo.

But, we have seen so much more than this - hippo, wildebeest, zebra, bush buck, water buck, velvet monkeys, blue monkeys, colobus monkeys, baboons, impala, antelope - the list goes on and on! The birds are beautiful and the birds of prey are so majestic.

Ngorongoro Crater is just filled with amazing creatures and the history of its formation is incredibly interesting.

How lucky to see all five **plus so much more... I'm sure that Chris will want to compare notes with you, after you're back. We can only imagine what you have been experiencing, but your descriptions are so vivid, it is easy to picture things in our minds. You have a wonderful gift, Tammy. I'm sure you could fill a book with your travel tales. - You should call it "Exploring Ruts and Ledges"!
Catherine and Meredith are expected here soon, for Christmas Dinner and Chris (working days) and JD (in London for the day) will be arriving around 8:00 pm. We're heading to Mom's tomorrow, for Boxing Day and then will go again for New Year's.
Your Mom wasn't kidding about the dump of snow we got, but then a full day of rain compacted and melted it some. Going up to 10C on Saturday, so that should get rid of some more, too.
Take care, and Merry Christmas. Love always, Jerry, Mary and all the family.

WOW! WOW! and WOW!

I can not imagine the thrill of seeing everything in its natural habitat. Do they have to post guards during the night to ensure you do not get disturbed by the wild beasties?

We are just getting ready for Christmas dinner at Mom's. Mike is here with the boys and Marion just left with her boyfriend to have Christmas dinner with his parents. We had a lovely evening of singing last night but missed your added voices along with Mary's harmony. Times they are a changing. But we do have snow for Christmas as you know from the last few post. Hope we get to see you and all your pictures etc when you get home. Thanks for keeping us posted.

You are in our thoughts and dreams. Merry Christmas!

Love

Dear Mark and Tammy,

We wish you a Merry Christmas! We had an amazing day and were so happy to be in the New House. Still have alot of unpacking to do...between Christmas and snow storms, we have had a few distractions. The kids were happy, and relatively healthy...so it has been a good day!

So glad you got to see the Big 5....everything seems to be coming together and you are getting a trip of a lifetime.

Enjoy your Christmas dinner African style!

Love,

Meredith and Catherine, Meghan, Mark and Sarah xo

It is so exciting that you were able to see the BIG 5. I bet not many are able to do that. I just wrote a note previously but I wanted to let you know how excited that you have seen so much on this momentous trip. Keep safe and continue to have fun on your trip.

Hi- I'm fine and having a really nice time. My dinner went well and we all had a great time afterwards playing crokinole and Euchre and Crib. Yes, we were singing carols on Cristmas Eve. Thanks for the messages. We were thinking of you both and did have the toast on your success. Even took pics to show you later. Trust the rest of your trip is as great as it has been so far. Love, Mom.
