Warmth of the holiday season...

Thinking of everyone and wishing all of you a wonderful day! We're missing the time usually spent with family and friends at this time, but know our thoughts are with each and everyone of you!

We're leaving Lake Manyara and are now on our way to Ngorongoro Crater. We have seen so many wonderful and wild animals.

Hard to imagine, but the guide says it will only get better and better.

We saw a stand-off between an elephant and a hippo yesterday. Something to see! ....and we were soooooo close.

The coolest part of this adventure is that we sleep in the game parks with no one else remotely close - our own private camp among the animals. A little unnerving the first night, but it is a unique experience to wake up to the sounds and calls of the wild. Thrilled to have this opportunity.

Missing turkey dinner tonight, but we are expecting a traditional African dinner this evening - can't wait!

All our love!
PS we love reading all your comments on the blog. It brings smiles to our faces. Thanks!

Hi Tammy and Mark
Well I got up at 4:30 this morning to get things organized for l2:oo p.m. I was going to give you a real funny but your dad says everyone can read that. So you will just have to imagine Ha Ha. Rick and Fran and bringing Kristines boyfriend, and Dave and Tresa V. with them, David and May are coming as well. So there should be a few laughs. Going to play a bit of pool and shuffle board. The animals sound teriffic and the size, but to hear their roar in the wild would be something. Did I understand right when you mentioned where you were staying that it was in something like a zoo or it in the wide open wild. I just had to ask did'nt I?Be very careful where you place you feet. Can; you imagine carrying a doggy bag behind one of those creatures. Mark soup is on for 49 cents a tin can you imagine, do you think you can afford this trip? ha ha And I have to let you know Motts veg. drink was put on the shelf at shoppers right be side V8' I proudly put my shoulders back and walked by the dollar savings and picked up V8. How proud you must be to have a mother-in-law so bound to support you. Good one eh? Well I don't know how much I'm allowed to write so will do it again when everyone goes tonight. Hope you guys including Marrisa and Walt continue to have a good holiday, and experience all you hope to. Love Mom and Dad.

Merry Christmas to you both. We missed you today but we know that you are having an awesome trip. So many new experiences that you may never come across again. The safari sounds great. I haven't even read about the BIG 5. What a way to sleep, out in the open in the game park. We did a toast to you at dinner tonight. Our thoughts are with you often. Keep up the good work of the blog. It is great reading about your new experiences.
